Nike, Inc. is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing, and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services. The company was founded on January 25, 1964, as Blue Ribbon Sports, by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, and officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1971. The company takes its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. In Greek Mythology, Nike was the goddess of speed, strength and victory. Also known as Winged Goddess, Nike is most often pictured as having wings. Ancient Greeks worshiped Nike because they believed she could make them never to die and was able to grant to humans strength and the speed needed to be victorious in any task they undertook.
Ajax
Ajax is a brand of cleaning products, introduced by Colagte-Palmolive in 1947 for a powdered household and cleaner. It was one of the company's first major brands.

The company was renamed after the Amazon River, one of the largest rivers in the world, which in turn was named after Amazons, the legendary nation of female warriors in Greek mythology.In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a tribe of women warriors. Apollinius Rhodius, at Argonautica, mentions that Amazons were the daughters of Ares and Harmonia (a nymph of the Akmonian Wood). They were brutal and aggressive, and their main concern in life was war.
